EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
PWYP is a civil society coalition founded in 2006 by initiative of non-governmental organizations aiming to promote transparency and accountability in the natural resource governance in order to ensure effective use of resource revenues for sustainable economic growth, human development and prosperity.
PWYP is seeking a Communications and Fundraising Officer to assist in the implementation of coalition strategy. The Communications and Fundraising Officer will work under the supervision of National Coordinator of PWYP and have key responsibility in the aspects of internal and external communication and public relations of the coalition, and also fundraising for strategy implementation.
Responsibilities
In the aspect of communication and public relations:
- Provides support on internal and external communication to the national coordinator of PWYP
- Assists with organizing annual and regular periodic meetings of the coalition and its coordinating committee
- Maintains and develops relevant professional contacts and networks with key actors and stakeholders
- Assists to the national coordinator in annual and project related reporting and planning
- Prepares and disseminates quarterly newsletter
- Maintains and regularly updates coalition website/Facebook page etc.
- Provides support with translation of emails, short news and updates (English-Mongolian, Mongolian-English)
In the aspect of fundraising:
- Assists in realizing fund raising strategy through preparing fundraising proposals on behalf of the coalition and maintains communications with donors and other funding institutions
- Facilitates continuous capacity building of members on fund raising
Operational Knowledge, skills and experience
- Integrates a results-based approach into the design, management and evaluation of all his/her programmatic activities;
- Has thorough understanding of relevant programmatic issues in the field natural resource governance;
- Is active in the search for information on donors and partners, preparation of reports and project briefs, identification of opportunities for initiation of new projects, and all other activities related to resource mobilization and partnership building;
- Illustrates integrity, a collaborative spirit, a sense of achievement, and an understanding of risk management;
- Experience of using social media
Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Liaises permanently with all internal and external stakeholders; acts and is perceived as an initiator of relevant communication to solve issues;
- Can demonstrate excellent relationship building skills;
- Drives projects and assignments through communicative personal energy and engagement;
- Fluency in English and Mongolian, i.e. written and oral proficiency, required.
Education and Experience
- Graduate qualifications in social sciences, economy, finance, media or public relations;
- Experience working in civil society and program implementation is desirable;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment will be considered an asset.
Terms of Contract
- 1-year contract.
