White paper: Information and Communications Technology Development of Mongolia 2010
The current paper aims to provide comprehensive information on the development of ICT sector in Mongolia. The wide range of topics on policy, legal and regulatory environment and ICT sector specific areas, such as communications, Internet, software industry, postal services, radio and television broadcasting, ICT related resources, and sectoral organizations, is covered by this Paper. The ICT development of Mongolia has advanced tremendously for the last five years. The telecommunications network of over thirteen thousand kms of fiber optic cable covers all of Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, and connects all aimag1 centers and some 151 soum2 centers. The number of mobile phone subscribers has reached over 2.3 millions. Internet is widely used in all sectors of economic and social development of Mongolia.
