Grant Competition the Institutional Development of the Regional Newspapers

 CSMS (Civil Society and Media Support) program of the Open Society Georgia Foundation announces the competition for the projects on the institutional development of the regional print media organizations (Newspapers).   

Participation Eligibility

Independent regional print media organizations are eligible to participate in the competition. The applicant organizations must meet the following requirements:

  1. §         The organization should be registered and have been publishing newspaper for last 3 years
  2. §         The periodicity of the newspaper published by the applicant organization should be at least once a week
  3. §         The newspaper content should support democratic development, popularization of values based on human rights protection and establishing the tolerance culture in the country
  4. §         The distribution area of the published newspaper should include the whole region (should not be limited only by a regional center)

Terms and Conditions: 

  1. -         Project should be prepared according to the application form approved by the OSGF (the application form is available on the following web-page: http://osgf.ge/?show=manual)
  2. -         Project should serve the support to the institutional development of the applicant organization (organizational management, development of technical and human resources, increasing the quality of organizational sustainability)
  3. -         Organizations willing to participate in the competition should present the copies of newspapers issued during the last month
  4. -         Organizations willing to participate in the competition should also present the information on the funding received during last 2 years from the organizations or individuals
  5. -         Except the application the project should include the CVs of the project director, executive team members, experts and participants
  6. -         Application should also contain 2 recommendation letters by experts or organizations working in the same filed
  7. -         The applicant organization is not allowed to present more then one projects for the competition
  8. -         Project should be presented in 3 copies
  9. -         The maximum budget of the project should not exceed 5 800 USD
  10. -         CSMS program will fund four best projects
